Infiniti enhances the retail experience with industry leading in-dealership technology

  • Infiniti debuts a new tablet-based app designed to simplify and speed up the purchase and delivery process
  • Studies show customer satisfaction is higher during an efficient purchase experience

NASHVILLE, Tenn.Infiniti announced today that the company has developed and launched an innovative retail sales and service app for its retailers, ICAR-X (Infiniti Client Acquisition and Retention Experience), that streamlines the car-buying process.

ICAR-X, a newly developed software tool, enables Infiniti retailers to deliver a more efficient and premium sales experience using cutting-edge mobile technology. ICAR-X is designed to minimize known client “pain points,” system redundancies and significantly speed up the car-buying process, thereby improving client satisfaction and the overall experience.

The most critical aspect of the dealership experience is the time clients spend in store, and according to an Autotrader Dealer Sourcing Study, customer satisfaction is at its highest within the first 90 minutes on the day of purchase. However, that number begins declining once time spent goes beyond 1.5 hours. At 2.5 hours, satisfaction drops below a buyers’ average level of satisfaction.

This fact has also been evidenced according to the J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study, which further clarifies that the customer satisfaction begins to drop significantly after just two hours spent at the dealership.

“The total amount of time spent during the sales process is a critical driver of client satisfaction,” said Jon Finkel, global director of Infiniti Client Experience. “Infiniti developed ICAR-X to eliminate many of the redundancies and inefficiencies inherent in today’s vehicle purchase process that typically frustrate clients. ICAR-X will lead the way to fundamentally change the car buying and selling process and set a new benchmark in luxury retail client service.”

Historically, Infiniti has helped to move the automotive industry forward as a customer-oriented company, and during the brand’s launch in 1989, it introduced the then-revolutionary client experience program, the “Infiniti Total Ownership Experience®.” This program was first to provide service loan cars and roadside assistance to Infiniti owners under the basic New Vehicle Limited Warranty period, and it further expanded to provide the Infiniti Personal Assistant.

Seeking to further enhance the client experience, ICAR-X is Infiniti’s next step in luxury offerings while once again revolutionizing the sales experience and retaining premium loyalty.

Infiniti is the first automotive brand to develop a retailer and client facing application that fully integrates the sales and service experience to significantly reduce the time spent at a dealership, which is intended to increase overall client satisfaction. In fact, according to the Autotrader study, 72 percent of those polled would visit a dealership if the process was significantly improved.

Key Features of the ICAR-X app include:

Client Information
From the moment the client inputs information online or in-person at an Infiniti retailer the client’s contact information is stored in the app for up to 30 days including vehicle interest, trims and location. If a client visits a different Infiniti retailer, their information is still available through the ICAR-X app, with regard to vehicle details, but not sales or deal information in order to help maintain trust amongst clients, a point that was also noted from Autotrader.

Vehicle Selection
Buyers can review local retailer inventory and price points in real time, streamlining the client selection process. Each VIN-specific vehicle listing includes a detailed description of the car’s features and packages, making it easy for ICAR-X users to determine which car they’d like to test-drive. Once the client selects a vehicle they are interested in, the salesperson can contact the lot porter to obtain the vehicle and bring it to the client.

Vehicle Presentation and Demonstration Drive
When the client arrives at the dealership, a sales consultant can use ICAR-X to review the client’s pre-selected vehicle interest and preferences. This allows the sales consultant to customize the vehicle presentation and demonstration drive by highlighting the buyer’s interests first.

Investment Proposal and Financial Transaction
Once a client decides on a specific vehicle, ICAR-X allows them to submit their credit application, review financing and leasing options and begin negotiating a deal electronically in real-time with the retailer’s sales representative. As a result, the sales consultant can remain with the client throughout the entire negotiation process, providing them with a higher level of client service.

Pre-Delivery and Delivery
As financing is finalized, the client will review a VIN specific delivery checklist in ICAR-X to prioritize the features they’d like to review with their sales consultant during their final walk-around. This eliminates wasted time going over any Infiniti features the client may already be familiar with and allows the sales consultant to focus on the client’s interests quickly and efficiently.

Owner Services
Owners can enroll in one online portal through ICAR-X that sets up Infiniti Connection™ and Infiniti Personal Assistant™ (IPA) instantaneously. ICAR-X also sends the new owner vehicle tutorials and information specific to their vehicle for their review long after the buying process is over. The sales consultant will also use the app to schedule the client’s first service appointment.

This new app is currently available to Infiniti retailers for Apple and Android tablets and will soon be available on mobile devices as well.

Infiniti QX80 named Best-In-Class for luxury segment in AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards

Franklin, Tenn. - Infiniti has announced that for the third year in a row its QX80 full-size luxury SUV was recognized as best-in-class in the 2015 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA) for the Luxury/Large SUV segment.

Now in its 19th year, AutoPacific’s VSA identifies the most satisfying vehicles on the market. An industry benchmark for measuring how satisfied an owner is with his/her new vehicle, VSAs are based on survey responses from over 66,000 owners of new 2015 model year cars and light trucks.

“We’re honored to be recognized for the third year by AutoPacific for the QX80,” said Randy Parker, vice president, Infiniti Americas. “This award is particularly important to us as it’s solely based on owner input for satisfaction which is a direct result of Infiniti’s passion in creating the most luxurious and reliable offerings for our owners.”

“By surveying a substantial number of owners who have purchased a new 2015 model year vehicle, AutoPacific’s VSA provides an objective measurement of how well the makers are doing,” said George Peterson, president, AutoPacific. “2015 represents a year of diversity and the competition was fierce.”

The QX80 offers a unique combination of inspired design and performance that makes it stand out in the luxury performance SUV class. Infiniti Shapes the Future of Design

WEST SUSSEX, England – At this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS) in the UK, Infiniti debuted a new stand, a new location and customer interest levels exceeding those of even the previous year’s successful achievements. Infiniti, currently seeing record sales increases in the UK, welcomed visitors to the “Infiniti Shapes the Future” stand on each of the four days of the FoS.

In Goodwood, Infiniti teased its forthcoming models with a glimpse of the Q30 hidden inside a unique Infiniti Q30 “Inspiration Box.” Visitors immersed themselves with an innovative 3D technology that showed the story of Infiniti’s design heritage without the need to wear special glasses. The box, which housed a full-size Infiniti Q30 model, illuminated selective aspects of the car by using a series of LED lights to expose the distinctive design.

By tweeting #GlimpseQ30, the light show continued to highlight more of the vehicle by sending a blue LED light across its silhouette. The QX30 Concept and stunning Q60 Concept were displayed behind the box.

Infiniti’s Festival of Speed stand also showcased Infiniti designers’ racing dreams with a scale model of the Infiniti GT Vision Gran Turismo, a “virtual” racer designed for the Gran Turismo®6 (GT6™) game.

“Design is at the heart of everything Infiniti does, and our concept models are famous for their boldness and seductive appeal,” said Francois Goupil De Bouille vice president for Infiniti in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Providing an exclusive feel for guests, the Infiniti stand was positioned on the Laundry Green, which is on the opposite side to the track than all the other manufacturers and trade stands and on the same side as Goodwood House. This let Infiniti benefit from the thousands of visitors who came to see the supercars and the amazing historical cars positioned in paddocks close to the Laundry Green.

With so many design-focused models on display, Simon Cox, design director of Infiniti Design London, was on hand to present and demonstrate how the Global Design team develops such outstanding concepts. Other special guests visiting the stand over the weekend included Christian Horner, Team Principal of the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team. Horner conducted a live one-to-one interview with F1 Sky Sports presenter David Croft, affectionately known as Crofty, whipping up the crowds with an entertaining Q&A session. Yamauchi Kazunori, the creator of the PlayStation Gran Turismo game, came to see the Infiniti Vision GT. Lord March, the owner of Goodwood House, also toured the stand.

Infiniti Q50 sport sedan recognized with Ritvo Design & Elegance Award by New England Motor Press Association

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Infiniti Q50 premium sport sedan has been awarded with the Ritvo Design & Elegance Award by the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA).

Named for the late Gene Ritvo, a veteran concours photographer and NEMPA member, the award recognizes the very best in automotive design. The recipient of the award is nominated with input from the Larz Anderson Auto Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

This year’s honor was among several announced at NEMPA’s annual Automotive Excellence Awards. Held each year during the press association’s annual meeting on the MIT campus in Cambridge, Mass., the NEMPA awards dinner recognizes select manufacturers and personalities within the automotive community for their contributions and successes as identified by NEMPA members.

“Our friend Gene Ritvo would have been proud to see the Infiniti Q50 take home an award bearing his name,” said Craig Fitzgerald, NEMPA president. “In its thoughtful design, it conveys the class and the sophistication, of which Gene was a pure devotee. NEMPA couldn’t agree more with the expressed views of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Larz Anderson Auto Museum that selected the Infiniti Q50 this year.”

Since its introduction in 2013, Infiniti’s premium sport sedan has been recognized with a number of awards for styling, performance and technology leadership. When it was first launched, the Q50 introduced with it a new design language – which would later be incorporated into the rest of the brand’s vehicles – giving the car a decidedly aggressive, athletic look underscoring its on-road performance.

Emanating from the sedan’s signature “double arch” grille is a character line that flows over the front fenders and tightly around the side of the car, culminating on the rear deck lid, giving the vehicle an element of both elegance and strength. Other characteristic design features carried into the rest of the brand’s line-up include its crescent cut c-pillar and distinctive, almost-human like LED headlights and taillights.

The Q50 also introduced a number of world’s first technologies, including Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS), an innovative steer-by-wire system that allows drivers the option of customizing steering sensitivity and feel, while simultaneously helping to isolate road vibrations. Working in conjunction with Infiniti’s own lane-keeping technology, DAS – like each of the brand’s safety and performance technologies – is designed to complement the driving experience, not replace it.

For additional information on the Q50, the awards and recognition it’s received, or additional information on Infiniti’s full line of premium sport sedans, luxury crossovers and SUVs, visit Infiniti of Gwinnett.

Like parabolic skis, Infiniti Direct Adaptive Steering lets you steer quicker and smoother

Direct Adaptive Steering™ (DAS) is the world’s first production steer-by-wire system, providing new levels of control, precision and adaptability. The system uses advanced electronics to streamline the steering mechanism for a more precise feeling behind the wheel.

Developed after more than 10 years of research, Direct Adaptive Steering™ allows independent control of the Q50’s tire angle and steering inputs, transmitting the driver’s intentions to the wheels faster than a mechanical system. This increases the direct driving performance feel by quickly and intelligently communicating road surface feedback to the driver. Over uneven roads, for example, this moderates the need for constant, subtle adjustment, imparting a commanding feeling while helping shield the driver from excessive road vibrations.

While systems such as Direct Adaptive Steering™ will be critical in future autonomous vehicle designs, Infiniti Q50 owners are realizing a real benefit today in the system’s ability to customize steering settings according the driver preference and road conditions. The system allows the driver to change both steering effort and the steering gear ratio.

New Tech For the Q50 Sedan (Part 1)

It Anticipates the Road Ahead

This system warns you of risks that you may not even see coming. Sensors on the front of the Q50 are constantly scanning the road ahead, monitoring both the relative speed and distance of the vehicle in front of you and the vehicle in front of that one. It sees two cars ahead. If the vehicle in front of the one you are behind brakes for any reason, the Q50 will know it before you do.

It Keeps You on the Straight, and the Narrow

This system uses a camera to monitor your position within the lane you are traveling. If it senses you moving out of your lane without signaling, you are given an audible warning. If you continue in that direction, the Lane Departure Prevention System will ease you back towards the center of the lane. Active Lane Control can help keep you in your lane when driving during a crosswind or on an uneven roadway.

It’s Like Eyes in the Back of Your Head

When you shift into reverse, the Q50’s Backup Collision Intervention® (BCI) helps detect crossing vehicles and large objects behind you, and tells you with both visual and audible alerts. If necessary, BCI goes further by automatically engaging the brakes to help you avoid a collision.

It Sees What You
Might Not

This system uses sensors to help alert you if a vehicle is detected entering your blind spot area, and then it helps you avoid it. First, a warning light will illuminate. If you begin moving toward the occupied lane, an audible warning will sound. The system will even apply opposite side brakes to help guide you back toward the center of your lane. Swing by Infiniti of Gwinnett to test out this technology today! Source

[Bad Idea] Youngsters Test Infiniti’s Self Driving Car

The future is now. Constant technological advancements have given birth to delivery drones, electronic cars, and of coarse, the self driving car. As we advance, it seems kids will still be kids and their level of intelligence will progress with time, not technology. Take exhibit A (the video) for example: Two idiots in Germany cruising in Infiniti’s self driving car. To clarify, the car is not completely autonomous. It’s self driving capabilities are solely to maintain it’s lane on the highway. Braking and acceleration are not features in this particular vehicle. Those irrefutable facts didn’t stop these brazened goofballs from abandoning the front seat (and their brains) on a highway whilst ‘driving’ or lack thereof. So sit back and enjoy the ride… just like they did, and please don’t try this at home!

Check out our recent posts.
